I noticed the original master of this short (WITH the Take a Bow fanfare and unremastered colors) was not on DVD in any form, and even the Made in Point Richmond DVD used the Toy Story 2 version (yes, that version also has unremastered colors). The original version IS on the Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 1 DVD set, but the Take a Bow fanfare was muted for some reason. BUT, I did find the 1986 Pixar logo with the Take a Bow fanfare in the Beach Chair short on the Made in Point Richmond...

I decided to make a mockup remaster of Knick Knack, as if it would be the prototype version of the 2003 remaster, like the sneak peak that was in Pixar's website back in the early 2000's. My recreation is better than the one someone else posted on YouTube. I spent hours editing the Knick Knack title cards, and also I decided to use the original 1989 audio in this (reducing the VHS hum). Credit to PixarFan 8695 for remaking the 1989 Pixar logo in HD. Enjoy.

I noticed this version has the Pixar logo appearing a bit earlier when the music starts, and then when the Pixar logo zooms in, the screen stays still for a bit longer until when the silver cube fades out. Here is a VHS quality Recording of "Volkswagon Polo Interview", well you maybe asking "There is a mastertape quality version of on the made in point richmond dvd", well yeah but that version has a water mark so theoretically you could cover the pixar water mark with what would be there on this version of the commercial and presto the definitve version of this commercial.
