This Thing is a fin can (fin can = set of fins integrated into a short section of body), that slip fits over a common model rocket 24mm body tube. The elliptical fin shape incorporates an asymmetrical forward chord centerline, giving it a forward-swept appearance. Three and four fin versions are included. The fin size is 100mm root chord with a 40mm semi-span (not including the body). Each fin is tapered spanwise and toward the leading and trailing edges. Full fillets are included that also...

This is a configurable and printable guide for positioning and gluing fins to the body tube of a model rocket. Configuration options include the number of fins, body size, fin thickness, and other options for adjusting the size and strength of the print. Fin positioning guides like this are not new, but it was done in a nice printed implementation by Dave Juliano in [this thread on The Rocketry Forum]( https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/3d-printer-plunge.146985/page-4). I liked the idea, so...

REPLICATOR FRONT PANEL - I don't know anything about how you may have your Replicator situated, but mine is not at eye level. Whether I am sitting or standing, I'm always looking down at a bad angle to the LCD display, which is parked only a few inches above the tabletop. If I'm standing, I have to bend over and crane my neck sideways to read it. This just screams for a solution to angle it upwards for easier reading. Angling the display board without extensive modifications to the case means...

This is very similar to its ancestor except for a few subtle changes. I was a bit disappointed in the original in that the spool base and wall changed with the spool diameter. This required a different wall piece for every spool size. I've altered the code so that the wall piece and spool base are always a fixed size, so that any size spool part can fit on a single wall mounting. (Any size spool smaller than an MBI, that is. If there are larger spool hub sizes, a larger base would be required.)...

A couple of people on the forum have mentioned that they've broken blades on their Replicator extruder fans. Well, that sounds like a need for a fan guard. I can't decide which one I like better, the radial, or the honeycomb pattern; so I uploaded both. To tell the truth, I'm not exactly thrilled with either, and I'm expecting someone to come up with a snazzier pattern. The honeycomb pattern is probably more airflow restrictive, and it might benefit from a larger honeycomb pattern.

Yet another Replicator Foot. Very similar to thing:23933 but it's not a derivative. The self adhesive Gripper Pads on the foot appear to work extremely well. The slots for the Replicator sides have small ridges in them that should help these feet remain in place.

I've used dual computer monitors for almost 30 years, and while there are always the bezels between them, there has also always been an annoying gap and usually some degree of misalignment between the two. It didn't matter much because I usually have a different application on each monitor and rarely needed to have an application spread across both. But I finally got tired of the gap and printed these clips that snap over the top and bottom edges of the bezels. They hold the bezels aligned at...

This is not a thing you're likely to specifically need. This is here just to spark some ideas. My wife bought an acrylic lion figure at a flea market, and it came with a pretty ugly lighted wooden base. When the light burned out and I went to get a replacement, I found these nice blue LED candelabra base, night-lite type bulbs. They were much too cool for the old base, so I printed this base. It's not perfect, but it made the wife happy, and scored a few points.

There are lots of overhead spool holders, and for good reason: Mounting the spools on the back is just stu... ah, inconvenient. Up top you can easily monitor for snags, view the quantity left, and easily reload, without climbing around the back to see what's going on. And, the filament feeds almost straight downward into the extruder. Mine first passes thru the filament out detector, the hood, my dust cleaner/oiler (a Dremel polishing wheel) and straight into the extruder; no top plate or guide...

This is not a thing that anyone else is likely to need. I'm putting it up here just as one of the examples of the utility of 3D printing for specialized objects. This object replaces the spindle knob on our LPKF printed circuit board cutter. The original knob is small and difficult to grip. It's used to tighten the spindle collet holding the milling and drill bits. If it's not tightened fully, the bit can fall out, destroying the board being milled, and very possibly damaging the machine (has...

My fat fingers and a small allen wrenches don't work well together. I've never come across a nice small T-handle set that isn't too big/long to get into the Replicator spaces. This Thing gives small allen wrenches a bit of a handle to make them easier to ... handle. There is also an alternate screwdriver-like round handle. Included are .stl files for five small wrench sizes, and it shouldn't be difficult to change the .scad files for any size you want.

The Replicator and FlashForge Creator need additional support on the 5mm Y-axis shafts, so a popular modification has been to add additional bearings mounted in pillow blocks. This version of a pillow block includes the OpenSCAD code, with a parametric setting to adjust the standoff distance to suit your application. Additionally, I...

I've got a nice acrylic hood on my Replicator (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23386) that keeps it nice and toasty inside, but I was wondering how much. This clip mounts an Acurite meter inside the Replicator build area. It mounts to the inside of the back panel, just like the spool holders mount on the back, using the cutout that is/was/maybe intended for a nozzle wiper. UPDATED: 6/24/12 The original was too 'bouncy'. It's been updated to remove the flex.

These small clips mount on the diagonal front piece of the Replicator Hood by Dave Randolf: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23386 I love this hood, but one of the minor annoying things was that the sloped piece on the front sagged a little bit, since it was unsupported except at the edges. These clips join the sloped piece to the top and front at a couple of points, fixing the sag and any vibration of that piece. In addition, the lower clips have an extra slot, that can be used to hold the...

The standard fan positioned to cool the MightyBoard can be reworked to greatly improve the cooling. Maybe we can avoid a few popped voltage regulators. Very little here is original; I've simply appropriated and combined several fine things. As it originally sits, the fan is positioned to draw air mostly from the heated build chamber. What's more, free standing as it is, it also largely just recirculates the warm air under the base plate; there is little cooling airflow. This thing re-routes the...

This Thing is a Diameter Gauge, inspired by SubSite's Radius Gauge. For my purpose it was more appropriate to measure diameters, so that's what I've got; no real difference (though it simplifies the equations a bit). Also, I needed to measure somewhat larger diameters, up to 36" or so, so my gauge needed a larger span, to improve accuracy on diameters that size. This has a 200 mm span, which is the largest my printer could handle, with the part placed diagonally. Then I noticed that with a...

**Replicator MightyBoard Protection Part 1: ENDSTOP** Replicator MightyBoards blow up. We know this because there have been at least a couple of dozen such reports on the Makerbot groups. There are certainly many more that we don't hear about, that are handled directly through Makerbot support. The spool holder supplied with the Sainsmart Corecepton 300 printer is a sad afterthought. There are several replacements on Thingiverse, but all of those place the spool at the side of the printer. This is my shot at such a holder, and so far it seems to be working as intended. It includes a very logical and functional mounting for the filament-out sensor...

Carcassone is a tile-laying game. The 'game board' grows as the tiles are laid, in whatever direction the tiles fit. In our games there has been a continuing problem in keeping the tiles straight, and it can become a major operation if the 'board' has to be shifted if it nears a table edge. The Tile Grids each hold nine tiles in perfect alignment, and the grids snap together with small dovetail joints to grow the board in any direction as necessary. From the beginning, I've had a Humidity/Temperature meter inside the build chamber. Recent modifications have required it to be moved, and this thing is a mount to clip it to the top plate of the Replicator still within my hood. The previous thing was http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25564 and the meter I used is here: http://www.amazon.com/Acu-Rite-Indoor-Humidity-Monitor/dp/B0013BKDO8/ref=pd_bxgy_hg_img_b

The Y-axis belts on my Replicator* have always been a bit floppy, and attempting to tighten them a notch always seemed to skew the carriage and make them drum tight. The original source Thing:30708 seemed like a good idea. There were a couple of issues that needed to be fixed up though. First, I try to never leave a free nut that has to be placed and tightened blindly - a printed-in nut holder is always the way to go. Secondly, you would have to carefully measure and drill the holes to ensure...

This Thing is a simple cover to enclose the original power connector and switch of the Replicator. When a power supply is installed in the base of the printer, these openings are no longer needed, and it's a good idea to cover them up so nothing gets poked in there (including the original power cord). This is a remix only in that I used the same screw holes as the Replicator Power Cord Support Bracket, that I've had installed there for the past 5 years. If you're using the original power cord...

This is a model rocket nose cone that fits the common Estes BT101 body tube. It's printed in two parts: nose cone and shoulder. They fit together with alignment pegs that mate between the two. It's intended that the two parts are glued together. The shoulder has an integrated 'pig snout' loop for shock cord attachment.

This Thing is a set of contour shapes for use in sanding. You can wrap a piece of sandpaper around the shaped edge, and use the hand grip to get the sandpaper into odd shaped places. You can also glue sandpaper to the shape - a contact cement, CA, or even a glue stick should work. It's no mystery that this is a complete rip-off of similar sanding tools found here at Lee Valley: http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=20183&cat=1,42500 I've offered a variety of sizes, usually in...

I liked the original Angular Dice Tower, but there were a few bits I wanted to change. So I took the original elegant OpenSCAD code and hammered my own ugly code around it. The things I changed, from the bottom up, were: * Added a 'footing'. * In ABS the slope of the exit ramp didn't print well, so I filled in that area. * On top, I replaced the square entrance funnel with a slightly larger rounded one, eliminating those deadly (and breakable) pointy corners. * Extended the height of the...

This thing facilitates mounting a common imported 24V power supply beneath the build chamber of a Replicator. The standoffs are connected by a frame, so you don't have to deal with four separate standoffs. Instead of mounting the power supply flush to the bottom plate, the standoffs ensure that the cooling cutouts on the power supply frame aren't blocked. The frame and standoffs also serve as a drilling guide to position the drilled holes in the Replicator bottom plate. The mounting holes are...

From [Part 1](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:78598), we know that Replicator MightyBoards occasionally blow up. One of the suspected causes of those blow-ups is Electro-Static Discharge (ESD). Part 1 offered some protection from ESD on the EndStop data lines, and in this Thing, we'll try to improve on that to offer some protection to the Replicator in general. The most common source of ESD damage is from the human body, discharging an accumulated charge into a sensitive electronic circuit....
